I've been here

I have spent the last few days visiting my Brother and his Wife in Roebourne (about 1500kms north of Perth on the central Pilbara coast). It was great just to chill and catch up. They both work so hard at their jobs with long hours and little time for rest and relaxation. The day before my arrival it rained alot, something like 200mm in just over a day. So yesterday before my flight home in the evening, we went for a drive out to Harding Dam and on to see the river flowing. Here are some images from the drive.

This is only part of the Harding Dam - just stunning scenery from half way up a hill like the one you can see in this next photo.

This is where the end of the road was for us - the river being a little too deep to cross but great to cool off in.

Another part of the river on the way back.

and the flight home!

Thanks for putting up with me P&S I had a lovely stay!

Finally......

This idea has been in the making for about 18 months.....I have several test runs hanging around my house and have only just this last week found the time to make this all happen.

So without further ado, I give you....

These gorgeous soft cover albums are just perfect for that special gift to yourself or dear friend. They are very versatile and can be used for a personalised Scrapbook, notebook, personal journal, recipe holder or just about anything you want to keep in them.

Here's some more pictures:

Features:-
  • Hinged Rings allow extra pages to be added as required
  • Hinged Rings can be upsized to accommodate more pages
  • The front cover overlaps so that your album can expand and still be tied securely with the ribbon closure
  • Inside Pocket for small notepad and pen
  • Will accommodate pages approx 6” x 8” and slightly larger
  • Use wider pages – the overlapping front flap will accommodate extra width
  • 2 layers of medium weight interfacing is used to give the cover substance but still be flexible
  • Quality co-ordinating fabrics
I've released them in 10 different fabric combinations to start with and I might even release the pattern and kits at a later stage. If you would like to have a closer look or purchase one then they are available in my Etsy shop here.
I have several other designs rattling around my head too so stay tuned and you may see more!
If you would like to request a certain colour/fabric combination the I can be contacted by email or if you are a shop and would like to sell them, then please also contact me via email.

I do want to thank my very supportive husband Steve for putting up with this for so long and for coming up with the funky name!

This Friday.....

I'm a Woolworths "girl" - that is I normally food shop at Woolworths because it's closer to my home than Coles.
BUT on Friday I will be shopping at ........

Having experienced a bushfire first hand, I watch the evening news and it all floods back and the tears start along with that horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. Ours was no where as intense as the Victorian fires but nonetheless it was real and unless you have survived a bushfire, the speed at which they travel is indescribable. I have never been so terrified in all my life. Luckily we were ok thanks to the efforts of many. These people are not, many have lost their homes, livelihoods but most of all their loved ones. Simply horrifying. If you can help in any small way then please do. Every little bit helps. It's amazing how we all band together to help one another in a time of need.

Three!

On Saturday I attended a 12 hour crop (I think I lasted about 10 hours) at Tomorrow's Memories - it was a lot of fun and the theme of the crop was "Australia Day" - I'll leave the rest to your imagination! Anyway the girls did a terrific job as always in hosting the day with lots of prizes, specials and FUN!
I was on a mission and managed to get 1 layout completely done and 2 others 90% finished. So this morning I finished them all off and thought I might share.....
I'm sorry if they are a little wonky but the evaporative air-con here is playing havoc with my layouts - they are straight I promise!

The girls started school yesterday - Renae Year 12 and Gemma Year 10 - and for the first time since we moved out to Bullsbrook they have a door to door bus. No more driving for me!!!!!!! You see they are at school in Ellenbrook which is about a 25 min drive each way - 2 hours in the car a day. But no more - the government finally came to the party with School Buses which run right past our front door. Yesterday, I didn't go anywhere and just enjoyed the peace and quiet at home. Very nice indeed.

Tomorrow's Memories have asked me to be their guest designer so I have been working on 2 layouts - 1 down and 1 to go - this afternoon's project. Hopefully I will be back sometime soon with some sneak peaks.

Also the lovely Karen from Scrappin' Outback is well into plans for the next Wave Rock Retreat to be held in Hyden on 27th - 29th of March 2009. If you are interested then please contact her - these weekends are awesome and such good value.

Well that's about it for now - Take care and if you have been sewltering in the heat then try and stay cool.
