Sneak Peeks

Classes are being finalised for the Hyden Retreat on 28th-30th March and here are sneak peeks at my Off the Page and Layout class.....

Karen should be sending out materials lists etc sometime in the next week or so. The classes for the retreat are shaping up to be some of the best yet and I'm looking forward to the weekend and catching up with everyone again. There are still some places available but the retreat is filling fast so you had better be quick......contact Karen here. If we get numbers from Perth there will be a bus running so if you are interested let me know....I'm the bus driver!!!!!

Paper Pesto sneak peeks are up for the March kit and they look very scrummy indeed, go check them out! There's some B&W with a splashing of colour and even some lace paper I spy.

My next Scrappy Sunday is in the planning and you can sign up here for it, I've narrowed it down to 2 dates so check in and let me know your preference.
I need to get creative - I need to create - not today though I'm out for lunch, maybe tomorrow? Nope out tomorrow too, will have to be Thursday. OK so hopefully I will be back by the end of the week with something new.....don't know what but something.
OK I'm off now, take care and catch you soon.

Scrappy Sunday

Well it was a FANTASTIC day thanks to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are some photos from the day.........Morning/Afternoon Tea...
My lounge room transformed....

The Chef......and didn't he do a fabulous job with lunch (I forgot to get a picture!) - Continental rolls and Gourmet Pizza! Yum...a couple of the ladies wanted to "borrow" him. OK I won't call you DH anymore I promise!

and the girls doing what we do.....scrap and chat!

I can't thank you all enough for making the day a success, I had a great time and hope you all did too! Can't wait to do it all again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On another note, I did a Photoshoot for Jen and her family the other day and it was the first time I had met her husband and 3 gorgeous sons. It was late afternoon and whilst I was a little distracted with my hubby not being well, I think it went off really well. Jen would probably beg to differ but her boys were just being boys. Jen got to sit and look through her photos today and tissues were not too far away for both of us - Jen reacted this way to exactly the same photos I did went I edited them late last night. I'm sure she won't mind me showing off a couple here.....

There are plenty of others that I would love to post up here too but you would all be here forever.....these 3 are pretty special even if I do say so myself!!!!!!!
Jen is a very special person and it was an absolute pleasure to do this for her .....love ya Jen.
Oh yes and Vicki received her present on Friday and she loved it.....see here. I made her cry too! In a good way.
Anyways I'm off to put my feet up and have a wine or two. Take care and have a great week!

Catching Up

Well things have been a little bit busy around here with the beginning of the year and Gemma starting dancing again, Renae needing fancy dress costume for a 16th party, taking Lachlan out on Valentines day etc etc etc.
Last week was mainly spent organising my Scrappy Sunday planned for this coming Sunday 24th Feb. I just have some last minute bits to get this week and I'm done. There are still 2 spots left if you are interested in joing us. Just add your name here.
Last Thursday a couple of friends and I went to the opening of the new HUGE Ikea in Innaloo. WOW! Steve thought we were bonkers but to be honest we were in the first 100 or so to go through the door (I estimated there were a few thousand in line) and the whole experience just flowed - yes it was busy but they were very well organised in terms of heaps of staff to help you out, cold bottled water to have while we were waiting in line, maps of the new store and they now have fabric by the metre again which the old store did away with a few years ago now.
Loved the store and all the new "rooms" and mini houses to look at. The market hall is fantastic and very well set out. I was impressed all round except for the lady on the till in the restaurant (she was a little bit sour) but they have 24 check outs so we didn't have to wait very long at all.
Oh and yes I bought a few little bits and pieces! Just a few.
I had a photo shoot planned for yesterday but alas a couple of them are not well so we have postponed until Thursday - so I'm all organised for that and very much looking forward to it. I hope you are feeling better soon Jen.
I have this

and this
Arriving sometime this week!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay I cannot wait - I have waited a while for these now and well I am just so excited. Renae needs a camera for all her Year 11 and 12 assignments so she will be having my 350d and we will share the lenses......this meant I could have a new camera and lens....Yipeeeeee.
Better take kids to school - take care and have a great week!

A gift

A good friend of mine is working on a couple of personal goals at the moment and I wanted to make her something as a reminder. I read Ali E’s blog this morning and in particular Weekend Creative : February #2 : punch collage so I set to work whilst hanging out a couple of loads of washing.

This is the result

“V” reads my blog so she will now know what she’s getting!
I decided to leave the lines on the background because they symbolise to connect the dots IYKWIM. I also added some metal embellishments on each row.

OK off to hang out another load of washing and work on another project.

Have a great weekend.

Busy weekend and lots of show and tell!

We had a very busy weekend with Renae's boyfriend flying back in for Boarding School yesterday and to start school today! Renae was very happy to see him again, actually they were really happy to see each other. We went and had some lunch in the city and settled him in at boarding school and stayed to have dinner with him (which I think he was glad about). Today my big girl starts Year 11 (TEE) and my baby is in Year 9 and has enrolled for 8 dance classes a week - so their schedules are going to be very full indeed. I'm looking forward to some routine again...I look forward to the beginning of the holidays but by the end I'm ready for some normality again.

I have lots of creating to show off, firstly here are my 3 layouts using the Paper Pesto February kit which you can check out here.

Secondly I started this frame as a gift for Steve at the Moonlight Scrap at Tomorrow's Memories the other week....I think I mentioned I had no idea what I was going to do until I got there. I spotted this Collections Frame kit that comes with all the chipboard bits and bobs and I have used the Kaiser Scrapbooking "Photo Friendly" range of papers to create a standing frame for my hubby. He loves it by the way!

In my haste to finish it, I left the hinges til last and snookered myself because I had no where to hide the brads as I had stuck everything together....then I thought of the new Tim Holtz Grungeboard hinges that I had purchased from Mistra at MaDscraps.....they worked perfectly - I just put the brads through and then glued the hinges down....voila!

Lastly, here is my I Heart Mirabel........

I had a couple of canvases on hand so I thought I would just play with an idea that has been in my head since Nic asked me to contribute. It didn't quite work out the way I wanted it to but it was pretty close.....the quote on the side reads "Love is a journey not a destination". You can check out the other Hearts here.
Well I think that's about it for Monday....catch you later in the week, have a good one!

Beach, Layouts etc

The girls and I spent yesterday at Yanchep Lagoon Beach with some friends. We had a great day swimming and chatting and even had a Chip Butty for lunch ( I think that's how you spell it).

I had the pleasure of creating with the February Paper Pesto Kit - called "Be loved" and I loved IT! This kit was very easy to use and all the kinds of elements that I usually use on a layout - lots of Scenic Route Chipboard, Flowers and gorgeous papers. You can check out projects from yours truly, Ann McLachlan and guest designer Deidre Heath, as well as Kate and Fi from Paper Pesto here at the blog. You can purhcase yours from Paper Pesto and the February kits will ship on the 10th.

I got an email the other day from Nic Finlayson about a little project she is working on in conjunction with Meet me at Mikes for Mirabel. you can find out some more here....all you have to do is make a heart using any materials you like and post it off - too easy! They will be selling off the heart for $10 each and proceeds go Mirabel. Great cause and well done to Nic for getting behind it.

I'm having a Scrappy Sunday at my place on 24th Feburary if you local and are interested in joining us for a great day - I only have 2 spots left so if you would like to come along then just email me or add your name in here.

I think that's it for today - have a great weekend everyone and on Monday - School is back for us. YAY!

Love Thursday

I know I'm a day late in posting this but here is my photo for Love Thursday at Shutter Sisters

This salad of Prawn and Rockmelon truly symbolises Summer is here!
