Update

Just to let you know that Paper Pesto have now released all their Sneak Peeks of the September kit so go take a look at the Paper Pesto blog. Yum gotta love that Scenic Route!
I have been working on my secret project which is nearing completion and what would a secret project be without a few hiccups! I'm trying to iron out one last hiccup and I should be ready to launch. Sorry this has taken so long and I know I have been teasing you long enough already, but what's that saying - "Good things come to those that wait".
Sports carnival last Friday for the girls and Gemma did really well and won her 50m and got 2nd in the 100m and also competed in the long jump and relay (poor thing she had to run 200m in the relay cause they didn't have enough girls in her year/faction to compete)! She got pipped on the line too....another 2nd.
Happy Birthday to my brother Peter today, I won't reveal how old he is, but he is older than me! I hope you have a great day and that Harley becomes a reality one day....lol. Happy Anniversary to Peter and his wife Sandra too , married 27 years ago today, yes they were married on Peter's birthday cause he didn't want a 21st birthday party.....ooops, just gave away your age didn't I....sorry!
Off to lunch at Lis' place tomorrow and catching up with Alli too, so I'm looking forward to that too. Happy Hump Day and catch you soon.....take care.

Once a week?

I only seem to be able to update my blog once a week at the moment, which is pretty sad.

This past week has been very productive and I have some pretty exciting things on the horizon.
I finished off the album I was working on and delivered it to the client yesterday....thank goodness he was happy with it. I always worry when I hand an album over, if the client is going to like it or not. Thankfully no-one has not liked one yet - but it doesn't stop me from worrying.
Yesterday I made a "mini-list" and it read....Card for brother's birthday, page in my Art Journal and Hackey Sack for Renae. Guess What? I achieved all 3 of those things. 2 of which I can show you because my Brother's card will have to wait in case he reads my blog which he has been known do on an occasion.

The Hackey Sack turned out just the way I wanted it to, except I don't think it is going to be heavy enough. I used those plastic doll/toy beads, I might have to find an alternative.
My Art Journal page is something for me - I used 3 spray paints for the background (Gold metallic, Red and Black). I have been experimenting with some brushes in Photoshop and printed the Cathedral windows and text over the top, stamped the flourish and words using brown Stazon, which over the gold gave it a very transparent feel (not solid brown at all).....just the feel I was looking for. It's not meant to be a religious piece even though it turned out that way to look at it......let's just say it has a double meaning to me!
Today I was going to treat myself to a trip into the city as Steve is working on a job on the new Railway Station and do some shopping, but Renae is unwell, she has slept all morning and has a tummy ache - so I will keep an eye on her and see how she goes. There has been so much sickness around this year and luckily until now we have managed to avoid it all. No such luck anymore me thinks!
I received a box of goodies from Karen for the Hyden Retreat the other day - The new Ashville range from Scenic Route is very noice and I can't wait to get stuck into my project samples.

Look who I looked after yesterday!

Harry - Isn't he just gorgeous...look at those eyelashes and chubby cheeks.
After we played blocks for a while, he fell asleep on my lap and then slept for nearly 2 hours - so not much effort on my part really.
Anyway I think that covers the last few days at least.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying their week!

I feel very special 3 times over!

I feel very special because I received a Rocking Girl Blogger award from Jen a while back and I have been very rude it not acknowledging it before now (Sorry Jen) so........

Jen has tagged me as a Rocking Girls Blogger.... there are three things to do One) display badge two) give credit to Roberta Fergurson who started the Rocking Girls Blogger and three) choose five girls you tag as Rocking.... 1) Tracey 2) Nikala 3) Rachel 4) Ev 5) Hannah

Then yesterday I received a Nice Matters Award from two people - Judy and Lissy !!!

I feel very humbled to receive this award from both of you! Thank You!!!!

"This award will be awarded to those that are just nice people , good blog friends and those that inspire good feelings and inspiration! Those that care about others that are there to lend support or those that are just a positive influence in our blogging world!"

Seeing as I have already nominated 5 above I hereby nominate everyone else!!!!!
Yesterday I had some quiet time to myself and decided to make a pin cushion for my Sister-In-Law similar to the one I saw a few weeks back on Mel's blog. I have kinda overstuffed mine a little! Renae saw it yesterday and asked if I could make her one but smaller and full of something heavy???? A Hacky Sack? Yep - so I now have to make another smaller version flowers and all! I have made it part of my "Daily Something" challenge set by Ali Edwards.

OK Back to work - I have an album to finish off for a client and about 10 other projects to get started on.

Just for Mel!

Sorry I haven't been blogging Mel, life has got in the way a bit lately as well as my submission to the For Keeps Elite Team - But as of about half an hour ago, it is all done! It will be posted off on Monday and then I can forget all about it.

This morning Steve took Renae to work as he had to go and do some work on site and told me to stay in bed and have a sleep-in! Loved it, I woke about 9.00am, grabbed a cup of tea, checked my emails and read some blogs, then got out of my pyjamas at about 9.45am. Sheer indulgence. Steve got home about an hour ago and presented me with these......

A sleep in and flowers all in one day! I must have done something right lately! LOL Seriously, they are the most beautiful colour not pink and not purple, just gorgeous. Lucky me.
Have you checked out Ali Edwards' blog lately, she has a challenge going called "Daily Something" and now I have my submission out the way, well I hope to find the time to participate, it looks like alot of fun. I think I will do one for each of the girls and drive them mad with my camera this week. Alli's doing it to and has already made a start on hers.
Speaking of cameras, on the advice from Megan I had my sensor (camera sensor that is) cleaned this week and it has made the world of difference. I don't have to Photoshop the blurry blob out all the time now. Only thing was the place where I took it had all this yummy camera accessory stuff so I might have to re-visit in the near future when I win lotto. I did pick up some Ilford A3 photopaper though.
Renae has had to submit her expressions of interest for her subject selection for Year 11 this week. I forgot how much thought had to go into this process. Please tell me what 14 year old knows what she wants to do when they leave school? I know there are some that have their hearts set on being a nurse for example and that's what they end up being, but honestly these days there are so many opportunities for students that we didn't have, it makes it all the more harder. Renae has been sensible about it though and selected a broard range of subjects so that she can make a decision in the future and not necessarily now.
Just to let you know to Tomorrow's Memories launched their website last week so go take a peak. Congratulations to Vicki, Jo & Clori, it looks fantastic.
I'm looking forward to catching up again this week. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend whatever you are up to.

Back from Busselton

Yes, we are back from our fantastic weekend away for Xmas in July and I am still washing! One of the downfalls of a very wet and windy weekend away.

All the families had a great time and it was wonderful to see all the kids (14 of them) together and getting on so well. Some decisions were like trying to co-ordinate the Iraq war but we got there in the end.

On Saturday evening we invaded the camp kitchen at the Mandalay, which is really like a regular kitchen but on a larger scale, and enjoyed a couple of family skits and fantastic meal which we all contributed to. Now usually copious amounts of alcohol is consumed at this annual affair but this year I think we were all in bed by about 10pm. I don’t think some of us could face a hangover and kids wanting to be up early and on the go. There was an indoor pool which was a godsend given the weather was pretty dodgy all weekend. Those that stayed on for Sunday went down to Caves House in the afternoon and enjoyed the open fire and a beverage or two. A long walk was in order so we ventured down the beach experiencing gale force winds!!!! Or at least they felt like it.

We drove home on Monday and it rained ALL the way, lucky we did because the pool was about to overflow.

Back to reality now and I have an album to do for a new client as well as heaps of other bits and pieces to finish off.

Karen from Scrappin' Outback has invited me back to teach at the October retreat in Hyden which I am very much looking forward to, so I need to get some projects together and get organised. October is just around the corner!

Let's just say I have alot to do so I had better get off here and go do it!

Til next time take care.
