7 Random Things

The lovely Gayle Smith has tagged me to share 7 Random things about myself- thanks Gayle!
  1. I hate pineapple! Juice, tinned, even the real thing. LOL
  2. I would love to spend a Christmas in New York.
  3. My eldest daughter was born at 23:23 on the 23rd September.
  4. I like things to match – colour, shape etc.
  5. My favourite colour is Red.
  6. I have Semi-Circular Canal Syndrome and suffer from Vertigo constantly.
  7. I don’t like ironing and leave it until it piles up and I have to spend at least 5 hours doing it in one hit (like I did on Saturday) – although I am trying to change!
I'm not going to tag anyone but if you would like to participate then I would love to read your "Random Things".

Look at what my gorgeous Husband bought for me this week. A Pandora bracelet!!!! Well technically, I bought it myself, but a few weeks back he went to get it for me and firstly the bracelets come in all different lengths and then you can have a silver clasp or parrot clasp or a gold one and then there are so many charms to choose from as well! Too confusing but he did get big brownie points for trying. He now has no need to stress over what to buy me for our Anniversary, Christmas and Birthdays......charms. I really want to get some of the lovely coloured beads and gold charms and really mix it up a bit.

Yesterday I met a girlfriend at The Margaret River Chocolate Factory for lunch and a catch up. Just what the doctor ordered I think although the flies drove us bonkers. I bought these boiled lollies for myself, Steve some Rocky Road (they make the best Rocky Road!!!) and 2 giant freckles, 1 each for the girls'. Yum!
My Messageboard is starting to "hum" so if you would like to join up and meet some new online friends then come on over and introduce yourself, I'd love to see you there! If you would like to share/promote something like a special at a scrapbooking shop or a product that you love then go for it.
That's about it for today.....off to do some paperwork and filing and hopefully some creating later on. See Ya!

I'm Back...I think!

Well I got home from Hyden on Sunday afternoon about 5.30 and we all had a wonderful time. I taught 2 classes, one Saturday morning and one Sunday morning (no sleep ins for me!!!), both were a success with the lovely ladies producing some fantastic work.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching at the Outback Scrappin retreats, things are very relaxed and as a Tutor we don’t have to lift a finger really, Karen looks after us so well. Thanks Karen!
This time we had a change of venue and I think everyone agreed that it was for the better. We had the whole Town Hall to ourselves, plenty of space to spread out and also heaps of natural light during the day. The food was sensational with Karen’s husband cooking for us on Friday night, morning teas from the bakery and lunches prepared by the CWA ladies – YUM. Dinner Saturday night was at the Karlgarin Country Club and the Reef and Beef was to die for. The best steak I’ve had for a long time. We stayed out at the Wave Rock Resort in a 2 bedroom chalet and it was very comfortable.

Back to reality and I decided to start cleaning out my scrap room on Monday, and I mean clean out – completely…..I was struggling for room and one thing lead to another and suddenly yesterday I found myself at Ikea purchasing new furniture for my room. This morning my fingers hurt from putting together the items that I bought. Today I’ve been to get some plastic crates to store some more stuff from my room so that I can free up some more space. I will take some photos in the next day or so and post on the Messageboard at my website for all to see.

Next project – working on some layouts and ideas for our local Playgroup for Christmas gift ideas. (not that I attend, my girls are 15 and 13!) Once I get my room back together that is.

I had a meeting today about some things I have in the pipeline….more to come once the details are finalised!

Well I had better get back to the sorting! Don't forget to post a comment girls!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not quite hump day!

Scrapbooking Memories have published one of my layouts for the first time...here it is...
I submitted it to a call for "Altered Photos" and was published in "Flowers" section, oh well at least I finally have a layout in SM!

I have the worst flu I think I've had, it's a doozy! I spent all weekend feeling miserable and decided to go out for a while on Sunday....bad move...I came home and "fell in a heap". I was then ordered to stay in bed yesterday and do nothing, to be honest I couldn't do much else. I did try to pack for Lis and Alli's classes this weekend, but I couldn't even concentrate on that. I have slept in the lounge the last few nights as I have kept Steve awake with the coughing and spluttering all night. Today I awoke feeling much better and have managed some packing.

I also have a gallery set up now at Basic Grey - pretty cool!

sharonmanning.com.au news! I have set-up my Messageboard so make sure you register (if you haven't already) and contribute to your hearts content - please?

The next addition will be a Public Gallery......but progress is progress right?

I have now sold out of the 12x12 Acrylic Frames, but still have plenty of 8x8's. Check them out here.

That's it from me....I will try and check in again before I leave for Hyden....Have a great week!

And the WINNER is.....

Hannah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations Hannah I will send of your collection of goodies to you on Monday, just email your postal address to me please.

I used Random Integer to come up with the post number of the winner and the winning number was "2".
Thank you to everyone from all over the world who has left me a comment here to be in the draw. Please don't go back into hiding because I love reading your comments, it puts a smile on my face!

This week has been very productive, even the girls have been occupied most of the time during the holidays, I have only heard “I’m bored” a couple of times.

Here is Renae’s Mrs Perkins, Giraffe, pattern from Melly & Me. Renae did a great job with a little help from Mum.

Gemma has been working on a Science project due first day back at school. She cheated a little and bought this woodworks kit from Spotlight the other day and now she has to power it somehow. So we have all been trying to come up with a way. Great paint job isn't it?!

The Hyden Retreat is next weekend and I have made this mini-album for myself as well as making one for a prize. Karen raises money for the Leukaemia Foundation by selling raffle tickets in various products and projects donated. She does an awesome job over the weekend and I am very much looking forward to catching up with everyone again.

The site has been up and running now for a month and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Tweaking things here and there nearly every day and updating the galleries too has been a bigger part of my routine lately. So my question to you is..................Would you like to see:

A. A project kit with full step by step instructions eg mini-album, canvas, etc. or

B. A product kit.....i.e. A range of products hand picked by me that you can create your own layout or project with?

I really would appreciate some feedback so leave me a comment.............pleeeeaaaaaaaaaasssee?

Take Care til next time......xo

# 100

Wow 100 posts later and I’m still blogging.

As promised I would like to thank all the readers that visit my blog and check in on me, my family and the crazy world we live in. So I have rummaged around and come up with the following RAK. It includes 23 sheets of patterned paper and all the goodies shown here. All you have to do is leave me a comment on this post and I will put you into the draw, which will take place this Friday. If you don’t want to be in the draw and still want to leave me a comment then please just let me know.

I promised some sewing photos…..here is a quilted bag I made the other day to carry my camera (on its own) in my handbag. I have admired Lis’s for quite some time now and have been meaning to make one of my own. I have added a pocket to the inside to hold my spare battery and there is also enough room for my lens hood too.
Thanks for the inspiration Lis.

I’m hoping to get to Spotlight or Textile Traders tomorrow and find some fabric for my bags I want to make.

Here is my layout class for the Hyden Retreat. Everything is not as it seems with this layout!

And my Our House - Mini Album class using the gorgeous Scenic Route Ashville and Sumner range of papers and die cut tags.

Well that’s it for today and possibly this week.

See you Friday for the RAK Draw!!!!!

# 99 and Paper Pesto

Hi All!

My layouts for Paper Pesto have been posted at the Paper Pesto Blog using the October Deluxe Kit - On the Periphery, so go check them out. I can honestly say that while these are papers I wouldn't necessarily choose myself (even though they are Basic Grey) I found them very easy to work with and had photos that went well with them all. The kit is great value for money and I have product left over I hope to play with over the coming week.

OK my next post is #100 and I will be giving away a RAK full of goodies so don't forget to check back and leave a comment.

Thanks for visiting and I do love to read all your comments so feel free to say Hi!

Winner!

OK drawing the prize for the Fiskars Drill was very easy as I only had one entry! So Thank you to Robyn W for your handy tip which actually involved the use of the Fiskars Drill and something I have even done myself! Robyn, if you can drop me an email with your address I will send off your drill on Monday.

I found the Random Got Beautiful site via Sprague Lab blog the other day and submitted my fireworks photo and they have accepted it. Check out the site it's a visual delight of colour!

Paper Pesto's October kit arrived this week and as part of my DT commitments I have been madly working on my layouts. I have two done and working on the third one now. You can purchase yours here but make sure you check out the amazing layouts Hannah Blair has submitted this month too here. Hannah has also had 3 of her layouts accepted to the Basic Grey Gallery too.

I bought one of these from Blue Bazaar and it arrived the other day......I'm loving it! I have used several different tape runners on the market over the last few years and most of them ended up in the bin before their expiry date.....but this one is definitely a winner! Now I just need my back order of tape to arrive and I'm a happy scrapper!

OK This is my 98th post and I'm thinking of doing a RAK give away for my 100th post if you leave a comment.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

Royal Show

We joined the masses and braved the chill to take the kids to the Royal Show last night. We don't go every year but this year was one that we had to go (according to the girls!). Renae took Lachlan and Gemma took Emily which was great as they both had a friend to enjoy it with. I on the other hand had fun playing with the settings on my camera so here are a couple from the night.....

Gemma before riding the "Super Nova"....looking oh so confident!

Gemma whilst riding the "Super Nova".....screaming her lungs out!!!!!!!!!!

And After riding the "Super Nova"......well a picture says a thousand words!

When we got home I went to download my photos and had heart failure! It asked me to format my CF card........panic stricken, I went to bed very angry. This morning with a clear mind I searched around the net for a program to recover my precious photos. Thank goodness I found one, downloaded it and recovered 90% of them. Some were all funny colours and looked like 3 photos in one. Has this happened to anyone before? and do you know the cause of it so I can avoid it happening again in the future? Any assistance would be appreciated ;-)
Early start today, up at 6am as Gemma performed in her Star Wars Acrobatic Troupe at the West Coast Spring Dance Competition. They were the only troupe in their category but still performed as they had to score a minimum number of points to win.....win they did. A bit of an anti-climax, but their Teacher was very happy! Gemma has another Acrobatic Troupe on Saturday night in the open section which is a little more competitive......looking forward to seeing the finals on the night too.
I'll be back tomorrow with some sewing pictures.
Oh and it's your last chance to send me a Tip or Technique for my website and be in the draw to win a Fiskars Drill! See previous post.
Thanks for checking in!

1st of October!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gosh where has the year gone? I was going to accomplish so much more this year and time is running out fast. I did buy a couple of Christmas presents the other day when I spotted them on special. They don't have names on them yet but I know they will come in handy.

It's no secret I am a list person, Michelle gives me heaps about it all the time and Steve just rolls his eyes. It works for me, without my diary and list of "to do's" I would be lost. I came across this blog today and found the following.....

Top Ten Signs You Are An Obsessive Listmaker
1. Nothing "counts" unless it's on the list and you cross it off.
2. You sometimes write down tasks you've just done so you can cross them off.
3. You get a perverse thrill from writing down tiny tasks that others find unnecessary to list: "eat,” "drink water,” “brush your teeth.”
4. You find them in your purse, car, jacket pockets, junk drawer, etc.
5. You save lists for posterity.
6. Your lists have lists.
7. You perceive your lists as works of art.
8. You react with apprehension if someone suggests an activity and it wasn’t part of today’s plan.
9. You've recopied a list to make it perfect.
10. You're lost without one.

I think I scored 8/10 on this one......sad I know, I can see Steve rolling his eyes now.
So I leave you with some photos from the Fishing Trip to Coral Bay - I think we ate some of the one of the left the other night for dinner! Yum, so nice to have fresh fish again.

I better go make some deserts for our guests.....see ya!
